Steam Screenshot Folder Location

| | ,

The steam screenshot folder is a folder, where the Steam application is saving screenshots that user made in-game and it is located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\“YOUR STEAM ID”\760\remote\570\screenshots

If you have only one Steam User on your pc, then you have only one folder with Steam ID. So you can go to that folder on old fashion way by clicking through Windows File Explorer.

Default Steam screenshot button or key is “F12”. On some keyboards or laptops might be “FN”+”F12.” You can easily change the default steam screenshot button via Steam/Settings/In-Game.

Best Methods How to Open Steam Screenshot Folder

In “STEAM ID” enter your Steam id. Steam id used to be visible to all users, and it was part of your link to your Steam profile. Here is the Official Steam guide how do you find your Steam id, via in-game console click here. But I don’t recommend using this official Steam method because it’s tedious and complicated. I recommend using third-party tools like https://steamid.io/

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\“YOUR STEAM ID”\760\remote\570\screenshots

In this tool copy your Steam profile link after that it will show you your Steam id. Now copy your steam id into this link C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\“YOUR STEAM ID”\760\remote\570\screenshots You can now copy the whole link with your Steam ID into Windows File Explorer

Quick recap: in any VALVE multiplayer game you type in console “status” when you have joined multiplayer. Make sure you do this in VALVE game for instance in Dota 2 you press the options icon in the upper left corner and then you click options tab. Lastly, click on the advanced tab option which is located in the middle of the bottom of the screen. Here you can turn on your console.

After then, you still need to allocate your key to open the console. It might be tilde key by default ~ but how fast things change in Dota 2 due to regular and constant updates, you will probably need to allocate console key by yourself.

And here you go. Valve made it really easy to locate Steam Screenshot folder via their application but using any other method is so unpractical and tedious. In case of multiple steam users on single PC really confusing because Steam is naming user folders by Steam ID numbers.

That is why Steam gave us the ability to change Steam Screenshot folder to any folder user wants to choose for easy access which I highly recommend to do so.
